Your American Legion post provides a number of services to our community.  Here are just a few:

Community Service

Awarded annually to one girl and one boy in the local area schools.  Award is based on Honor, Courage, Scholarship, and Service.

This scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating senior in the local area schools.

Kirby Hyden Scholarship

The National American Legion and the National American Legion Auxiliary are both based separately in Indianapolis, Indiana. In 1935 the American Legion of Illinois established the first Boys State. In 1937 the American Legion Auxiliary in Illinois established the first Girls State.

DOD is required to provide only two Active Duty Military members.  The American Legion is a "preferred provider", meaning we are authorized to supplement the two man Active Duty military detail. We intend to do the best we can to help.
